Dreaming of an ex can leave you with mixed feelings on waking. But it doesn't necessarily mean you still love them. More often, some unprocessed emotion (regret, guilt, things left unsaid) is still there and surfaces in sleep.
An ex can also symbolise a feeling you miss from that relationship — being cared for, butterflies, freedom — rather than the person themselves. Ask: do I miss them, or a state I was in back then?
Sometimes it simply means a page hasn't fully turned. Gently acknowledging and writing it down tends to bring more peace than asking whether you're "meant to be."
